"Riviera Maya" is a tourism district following the coastal Highway 307 which parallels the Caribbean coastline of Quintana Roo, Mexico. The Riviera Maya is famous for its large scale inclusive resorts and a smaller boutique hotels near the beaches. A major attraction throughout the Riviera Maya are coastal and reef aquatic activities dependent on the coastal water and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System. This barrier reef system is the second longest in the world.
Famous Eco Attraction in Riviera Maya
Xcaret is like an Eco Maya theme park. We just love this place. It is a paradise for children and you can spend the whole day there. Some of the attractions include a re-enactment of a traditional Maya ballcourt game, butterfly pavilion, traditional Mexican dance and music, small zoo and much more.
Xel-Ha is a great place to go snorkeling or swimming. It is a fresh water bay that meets the ocean. Many sea creatures make their home in the bay and its tributaries and a snorkel around the bay will simply blow your mind if you are not an avid diver or snorkeler. It is well worth the price of admission and a great place for kids.
Punta Laguna: Spend time with spider monkeys and howler monkeys in their natural habitat. You can trek in the jungle and travel Punta Laguna by boat. Birds, deer, turtles and crocodiles are among the other wildlife to be seen.

Skydiving is available at "Sky Dive Playa" located at Plaza Marina
The Cedam Maritime Museum in Puerto Aventuras houses an interesting display of various artifacts and wreckage from shipwrecks along the coastline. The museum can be found at the northern end of the marina.
Rancho Loma Bonita: Horseback ride through the jungle mangroves, lakes and the Caribbean Sea. You can also ride a 4-wheeler, snorkel, bicycle or kayak around lagoons or swim in the pool.

The spellbinding atmosphere of the water's edge and the star-filled skies, bear witness to the magic rituals by candlelight with the sound of the waves breaking on the shore and the moaning of the sea shells taking your breath away…that being only an example of the incredibly romantic ambiences that can surround lovers who venture forth to this most romantic paradise on earth.

In the Riviera Maya is replete with music of just about all genres and from all parts of the world. There is music for dancing and for listening. There are Mexican rancheras and light and heavy metal rock. There are classical music concerts by extraordinary musicians and jazz and blues clubs for lovers of those musical concepts.
